What is eduroam?

eduroam (education roaming) is the secure worldwide federated network access service developed for the international research and education community. If you are visiting a participating campus, as a UCI affiliate you may use your UCInetID and password to gain access to that institution's wireless network.

eduroam Setup

eduroam set up varies by platform.

It is HIGHLY recommended to try eduroam on campus prior to travel.

NOTE: We are receiving reports that the latest Windows 10 Creators Update may have broken the built-in Windows 10 EAP client for the specific EAP type that UCI uses (EAP-TTLS). The Eduroam administrators are still testing it to see exactly what the problem might be.
One work around appears to be to use the Windows 7 Eduroam CAT installer in "compatibility mode" to install the GEANTlink third-party eduroam configuration (it is called a "supplicant"). We will continue to monitor the discussion list and share any updates as we receive them. We apologize for any inconvenience.
