UCI alumni* who graduated before 2014 can take advantage of a couple key services offered by the UCI Alumni Association & OIT. They are:
- Alumni Email Forwarding. Any email sent to your UCI email address will be forwarded to an email address you specify. This is NOT a mailbox you sign into to check email; it is simply a forwarding record (think of it as a forwarding address when you move to a new home.) Also, the email address you’ll be given depends on whether you received an Undergraduate Degree (UCInetID@alumni.uci.edu) or Graduate Degree (UCInetID@uci.edu).
- Unlimited usage of the “UCInet Mobile Access” campus wi-fi. Anytime you visit the campus, you can surf the internet for free. To use our wi-fi, we must first register the MAC address of your wireless device. OIT can help you with this request when the time comes.
To take advantage of the above, you’ll need an Alumni UCInetID. To obtain one, contact the UCI Alumni Association by sending an email to email@example.com. In your email, please include the following info:
- Full Name
- Year of Graduation
- Type of degree received (Undergraduate or Graduate Degree) and your Major (e.g., English, MAE etc)
If you graduated between 2006 and 2014, it's possible you already have one! If they can find your Alumni UCInetID, they can point you to our online self-service tools where you can reset the password as well as setup your email forwarding address.
If they can’t find your Alumni UCInetID, they can help you activate a new one! Activation requires a 10-digit Alumni ID# which they can provide you once they've verified you received a degree. Once you have the number, they can point you to our online self-service tools where you can activate the Alumni UCInetID as well as change your email forwarding address whenever you want.
Please note that the Alumni UCInetID you receive is system-generated and cannot be changed.
What are you waiting for? Contact the UCI Alumni Association today!
*NOTE: These services are only available to those who graduated with Undergraduate or Graduate Degrees from UCI. Those who graduated from University Extension/Continuing Education programs do not qualify.
