Getting out of trouble
If you ever get GNU Emacs in a state which you don't want it in, type
C-g. This will abort the current operation and ring the bell on your
terminal.
The "undo" function (normally bound
to C-_) allows you to undo not just the last change, but all changes
made to the file since the last time you saved it. Just press C-_
repeatedly to undo each change.
