LEAD SOFTWARE QA ENGINEER (PA III)-Candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating test teams across OIT, focusing on ERP and high risk systems.  Candidate will provide the framework and guidance for testing done for ERP systems, including developing the testing strategy or plan, developing test cases, monitoring/documenting/reporting on testing progress, and producing the final report at the conclusion of the testing. Candidate will be responsible for designing and performing functional, regression, and load testing of enterprise web based applications, with priority focus on the Kuali Financial System and Kuali Coeus.  Other enterprise applications in the QA portfolio will include high risk applications, UCPath, and Student Information System (SIS).   Candidate will communicate proactively and effectively with team members, team leads, project managers, software developers and management on issues.  Candidate will assist the OIT Enterprise Architecture team in developing quality assurance policies and procedures; will recommend systems enhancements and improvements.  Candidate will also manage testing schedules and priorities and evaluate and select automated QA test tools.

The first project will be to focus on the Kuali Financial System (KFS) quality assurance. By applying standard QA practices, tools, and templates, in conjunction with existing staff, this individual will create a test strategy and plan focused on the highest risk functionality, develop comprehensive and repeatable test cases, automate testing where possible, and monitor/document and report on progress.  He/she will be responsible for designing and performing regression testing and will design manual and automated functional tests that augment functional-unit and user testing. He/she will also be responsible for organizing the creation of test data for KFS as required for regression testing and will run automated code quality scanning tools that detect bugs before users do.

INFORMATION ARCHITECT/PORTAL PROJECT COORDINATOR (PAIII)-As OIT’s Information Architect and ZotPortal Content Project Manager, the candidate is responsible for the structural design and organization of the content in Zotportal and integrated departmental web sites, with the goal being findability and usability of information.   The candidate will analyze and unify information across different UCI web sites and areas of business and introduce new integrated content as necessary to create a functionally driven information architecture rather than one that is departmentally driven. The candidate guides the development of ontologies, labeling, search and navigation within websites and the campus portal and serves as the campus project manager and lead on assuring quality Web Portal content.  The candidate provides tools and training and works with providers to conceptualize their content into logical pieces of similar granularity.  The candidate will help content providers choose the appropriate CMS tool (Hannon Hill or Wordpress) and templates for the presentation of their business information and will work towards consistency and usability. The candidate will assure that style and other standards are adhered to.  Candidate will create new templates as business needs dictate. REPORT DEVELOPER (PA III)-The University of California Irvine (http://www.uci.edu), one of the best and fastest-growing public research universities in the country, is accepting applications for a Report Developer in support of Decision Support Services (DSS) and Data Warehousing for a new Peoplesoft Human Resources Information System (HRIS).  This new HRIS system replaces a 30 year old legacy Payroll/Personnel System and has triggered a major overhaul and modernization of UCI’s Data Warehouse.  UC Irvine offers excellent compensation packages, opportunities for professional development, and an exciting and technically challenging work environment.

In collaboration with Human Resources and Accounting and Fiscal Services, Office of Information Technology, is building a multi-phase program to build an integrated and self-service business intelligence/decision support platform for use by campus staff and managers. As an IT member of this program, the Report Developer is a key member of the Decision Support and application development team responsible for the creation, documentation, and support of campus-wide core/standardized reports.   

As a member of a talented and fast-paced Data Warehouse team, the Report Writer  will assist the development, implementation, maintenance, and documentation of decision support functionality that serves as an institution-wide resource to facilitate information sharing at all levels of the campus. The infrastructure should be capable of producing routine (i.e., regular) reports; ad-hoc reports and analyses; of supporting the display of key performance indicators (via dashboards or other means) at the campus, school, and departmental levels; and-what-if-modeling, analyses of scenarios, and the building of short- and long-range projections.    The ideal candidate will have experience working with end users on report specification and their implementation, certifying reports that ensure zero data defect quality.
