This is an exciting new project that will implement a single payroll, benefits, HR and academic personnel solution for all UC employees system-wide. Incumbent will have the opportunity to serve as the middleware infrastructure implementation lead on UCI’s project team.   Incumbent will provide technical consulting to campus organizations in integrating their applications with UCPath via our middleware framework.  Other tasks include development and migration of local systems including the Data Warehouse to integrate with UCPath.

SENIOR JAVA APPLICATION DEVELOPER (PA III)-UCIrvine’s Office of Information Technology is looking for java application developers who are passionate about developing and running enterprise web-based systems and services and know the ins and outs of complex high availability systems.  You will be working with other driven members of OIT teams to develop UCIrvine’s enterprise systems for students, faculty and staff.

As a senior programmer/analyst, manages and often leads the full project life cycle of complex web-based, database driven applications with campus-wide scope.  Many projects include the analysis of complex business processes and must be implemented as sophisticated workflow applications. Tasks include planning, communicating, and documenting a project implementation from its initial stages to its eventual production release.

Candidate must interview users, analyze and document user requirements, document workflow, diagram data flows and business rules. Must design, code, test, debug and maintain multi-user administrative and other database applications in an enterprise Java environment (Unix/Solaris/Windows) using Oracle, MS SQL Server and/or other relational DBMS technologies.  Resolves technical problems related to Java, Web/HTML/JavaScript/XML/JSON, RDBMS, Windows and Unix/Solaris.

UCPATH ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER (PRIN. ADMIN. ANALYST I)-The University of California is engaged in a system-wide initiative (UCPath) to replace its legacy payroll/personnel system and transition to a centralized service delivery model.   As a member of UC Irvine’s core UCPath Project Team, the Assistant Project Manager will provide operational and analytical support to the Project Implementation Manager and Project IT Lead. 

The Assistant Project Manager participates in business activities that support the successful transition to the new system-wide HRIS and Payroll system and support adoption of the standardized business processes required by implementation of the UC-wide shared service center. Responsibilities include documentation and publication of the project timelines and status reports, documentation of redesigned business processes and creation of business process maps, management of the UCPath Web site, consulting with project work stream leads to track progress toward milestones, preparing work stream status updates, and monitoring the central UCPath SharePoint site and the Oracle Global Consulting Delivery Portal (GCDP) for updated information.  

The ideal UCPath Assistant Project Manager will have excellent organizational and communication skills as well as demonstrated skill using Microsoft Project, Visio, wiki, and JIRA software, as well as experience managing Web sites. The incumbent must be self-motivated, proactive, and possess the demonstrated ability to provide detailed, accurate, and timely project updates.
