Wireless Network Outage Tonight on Friday, February 10, 2017 from at 10pm-12am

Purpose: Software Upgrade

Services Affected:

We have been having wireless connectivity issues with certain Cisco wireless AP models. Our vendor recommends we upgrade our wireless controller and change some parameters to resolve some of the problems we're having.

The affected building are:

ResNet Mobile Access Maintenance on Monday, February 13 from 730am-900am

Purpose: Software Upgrade

Services Affected:

We will be performing maintenance on the ResNet Mobile Access wireless system. The wireless network throughout student housing will be unavailable between 7:30AM and 9:00AM on Monday, while our engineers perform a software upgrade on the equipment. This maintenance is being done in an effort to address a software bug with some of our newer access points.

Both the wired residential network and the campus’ UCInet Mobile Access network will continue to be available during this maintenance window.

Scheduled Maintenance in McGaugh Hall on February 1, 2017 from 7am-8am

Purpose: Replacing two distribution switches

Services Affected:

We will be replacing a distribution switch in McGaugh Hall third floor, which will affect UCInet service out for all clients on the third floor.

There is one client switch being exchanged on the fifth floor as well.

Both changes will be performed simultaneously on Wednesday, February 1 between 7:00 and 8:00 AM. The Bio Sci IT team has informed their clients of the change and outage during this time.

Campus VPN hardware upgrade on Feb 1 7am-7:30am

Purpose: Hardware Upgrade

Services Affected:

The hardware used for the Campus VPN will be upgraded on Feb 1st starting at 7am. During this time all current VPN connections will be dropped and there may be a period of 5-10 minutes where no new VPN connections can be made as the new hardware boots up.

Users should not notice any changes.

Facilities Management Service Portal Maintenance on Friday January 27, 4:30 PM - Sunday January 29, 2017 5:00 PM

Purpose: Scheduled Maintenance

Services Affected:

We are migrating the Capital Projects system from Projects 8i into the Facilities Management Portal (https://service.fac.uci.edu/).

During the weekend maintenance, the Facilities Management Service portal will be in maintenance mode. Users will receive a “Maintenance in progress” page when they go to access the portal.

Bomgar Upgrade on January 14, 2017 from 10am-1pm

Purpose: Server Upgrade

Services Affected:

Bomgar will be unavailable for a feature/bug fix upgrade. Version 16.2.1 brings, among other things, a new web-based console and better connection resilience in the Jump Clients.
