OIT Organizational Realignment

The Office of Information Technology has been operating with an interim organizational structure since IT consolidation in 2009/2010.  In 2014 we embarked on an effort to design a new structure, focusing first on the top level.  Realignment objectives include:

  • Ensuring the academic and student communities are well served by aligning OIT academic and student support efforts.
  • Enhancing service delivery and ability to respond to evolving needs by aligning OIT support structures around key IT functions that are congruent with best practices at other universities and in the broader IT industry.  Effectively manage IT skill specialization.
  • Improving organizational efficiency by reducing the number of teams involved in any particular end-to-end process or service delivery and clarifying and focusing leadership roles.
