OIT provides voicemail service through the campus telephone system for a monthly fee.
To request new voicemail service or to change existing voicemail service, your department’s business office should submit the SRF Service Request Form (KFS recharge number required).
If you already have voicemail service but need to reset the security code, please submit the Employee Self-Service Form yourself. (login required).

|My phone doesn’t ring…|
My phone goes straight to Voicemail…
|Your phone line may have an “all call” diversion to Voicemail in place. Lift receiver and dial # 2 # to cancel the all-call diversion.|
|Why does my phone only ring twice before it diverts?||The 1st incoming call to your phone will ring about four times. If you don't answer, it will divert to your pre-set diversion point. The 2nd and subsequent incoming calls will only ring about two times before diverting – the phone system knows you aren’t available. It will reset back to about four rings when you use the phone again. Simply lift the receiver to signal that you are available for incoming calls.|

If you have a multi-line phone, you can also press the Voicemail button when the red light next to it is flashing, indicating a message is waiting.

|Can I transfer a caller (or dial directly) into the Voicemail system to leave a message without the person’s phone ringing first?||From any on-campus phone, dial 4-4141.

|I forgot my own Voicemail passcode for my own phone…||Submit a self-service OIT Request Form (Login required) yourself to have your own passcode reset to the default.|
|I am new to this phone number and I don't have the previous employee’s passcode ...||Submit a self-service OIT Request Form (Login required) yourself to have the mailbox RESET FOR A NEW OWNER. All messages and recordings will be deleted.|
|My phone doesn’t seem to have Voicemail||Voicemail is an optional service. While most phones have Voicemail, some do not. Your department business office should submit an OIT Service Request Form to request Voicemail be added to your phone. There is $20 set-up charge plus a monthly recurring charge ($4-$12 based on mailbox type). Service Request Form|

Personal Groups (Distribution List): The Distribution List feature has to be enabled by OIT and once the list is enabled it can be modified by Pressing 2, 3.
