Resetting UCInetIDs

UCInetIDs are a key resource for accessing online content at UCI. If you forget your password, you need to reset your UCInetID, after which you can activate it and choose a new password.

The best way to reset your UCInetID is to use the personal question-and-answer you established when you last activated. If you can’t remember your answer, you need to contact the OIT Help Desk as described below.

Getting Help Resetting UCInetIDs

Faculty and Staff

If you are calling from on-campus, we will ask for identifying information (last four SSN digits, date of birth) and then we will reset your UCInetID.

If you are calling from off-campus, we will ask for additional identifying information. In the event we are unable to verify your identity, for your protection, we will ask you to call from on campus or to visit the Help Desk with photo ID.

Students who have forgotten their passwords and can’t use the personal-question reset tool should come to OIT walk-in support in 115 Aldrich with photo ID.

If you are a student and an employee, in some cases it will be possible to verify your identity and reset your UCInetID by phone.
