The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is responsible for supporting the IT needs of UC Irvine faculty, students, and staff. Our mission is to provide information technology leadership, services, and innovative solutions to promote the research, education, and community service goals of the University. Department is responsible for Project Management, IT Infrastructure, and Cellular/Radio Infrastructure for the UCI campus. Department works closely with departmental clients, Design & Construction Services during new building construction projects, and Facilities Management during building renovation and maintenance projects.

Under the supervision of the Manager, Network Projects in the Office of Information technology (OIT), the Cabling QA Specialist will provide IT Infrastructure support services for disaster recovery, new building construction projects, and building renovation/remodel projects for the UCI campus. Primary responsibility will include basic project management, field surveys, job walks, site inspections, monitoring and inspecting contractor/vendor work during infrastructure installations, troubleshooting moderately complex cabling infrastructure issues, works directly with vendor/manufacturer’s technical support, attends construction meetings, reviews and responds to cabling submittals and RFIs, validates cabling scopes of work, reviews construction drawings, ensures infrastructure documentation is accurately recorded and maintained, coordinates OIT activities with campus support departments, vendors, and consultants regarding scheduled work and/or outages related to infrastructure planned/unplanned work, records effort reporting in Service Now, works on and updates Service Now tickets relating to emergency repairs, utility marking, and client requests in both large and small projects. This includes descriptions of details, issues, troubleshooting, and resolution within service level agreements.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Compensation Range:
