Under the direction of the Chief Information Security Officer – Risk and Compliance, lead the day-to-day program management of the campus-wide risk assessment and compliance effort including Payment Card Industry (PCI) and Research Computing IT Risk analysis and Security. Perform risk analysis, create and maintain campus IT Security Policy, and other technical security compliance program initiatives.  Coordinate UC Irvine Office of Information Technology (OIT) effort and distributed campus activities associated with security risk management and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities will include regular communication, scoping information security compliance efforts, working with technical and business teams to define, document and test security controls, facilitating the campus’ compliance advisors, compliance gap management, and project management of compliance and remediation tasks, along with other related tasks. Will organize and oversee training especially as required for compliance.   Will assist with strategic program development, budgetary requests, tracking of expenses, and implementation of purchased solutions. Candidate will create project proposals that close gaps in campus risk and compliance and follow through with execution once approved.

This opportunity requires strong technical and consulting skills related to information security compliance, risk management techniques, and effective communication. Superb speaking, writing and influencing skills are required as the opportunity to present verbally or in written form to IT and business leadership is frequent. The Security Risk and Compliance Program Manager will advise on identification and prioritization of immediate compliance and risk concerns, suggest short and long-term solutions, and follow-up with stakeholders across the university on the successful resolution of issues.
