Under the direction of the director of the Student and Academic Services (SAS) Division of the Office of Information Technology (OIT), the incumbent manages the Athletics IT team and all aspects of the IT operations for the Athletics. The position works closely and collaboratively with all members of the UCI’s Intercollegiate Athletics staff and coaches to provide technology support and services to Athletics by ensuring seamless, effective and useful products and services are being delivered to all the users in Athletics organization.

 

The role manages the Athletics IT group and resources, providing technical leadership to a team of 5 full time and up to 8 student employees. The position plays the role of liaison with other departments on the UC Irvine campus, OIT, and other UC campuses. It ensures that the IT services respond to the needs of UCI students, coaches, and staff.

 

The position leads a wide range of IT projects and initiatives and participates in multiple campus committees representing OIT and Athletics, including IT strategic planning, application development, system integrity, end-user support, operations planning, and collaborative partnerships.
