This position is an exciting opportunity for the talented individual who is passionate about working in a modern, mission critical production and operations environment. UC Irvine’s Production and Operations Management Team is responsible for the operations of large and complex Financial, Payroll, Student Information, and other enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to master the tools and processes that are required within Office of Information Technology to support one of the Nation’s top ranked research universities.

Under the supervision of the Production Release Supervisor, the Production Control Analyst is responsible for a variety of duties during day-shift hours with the primary focus on upcoming Student Information System (SIS) Ellucian Banner production control support activities. Daily tasks will include job scheduling, script writing, and batch monitoring using ASG-Zeke on IBM z/OS, ASG-Zena on UCI Campus distributed Unix/Linux systems, and Automic on SIS Ellucian Cloud-based systems.  Early morning light printing, quality control, and distribution of required output, including checks and Surepay forms to the Accounting teams.  Monitoring of system consoles, and Netreo OmniCenter application/network/service Monitoring.  Early morning OIT Data Center environmental monitoring, which includes security systems, intrusion alarms and cameras.    Execution of scheduled production software deployments, post-deployment QA test validation, and software release back-outs as necessary.  Other duties include early morning support (1-2 hours max per day) of the OIT Help Desk support line, assessing the needs of users, answering routine questions and creating incident reports through ServiceNow.

Must be able to interpret, understand, and follow all QA documentation, including QA diagnostic instructions, test scripts, and use cases, for any testing scenarios turned over from QA for processing.  This will be to assist in managing QA workload for routine testing exercises.
