Under close supervision of the Help Desk Manager, the Help Desk Analyst is the primary contact between UCI and the Medical Center system users and OIT. The Help Desk Analyst independently assesses needs of users as discerned from phone calls, email, and visits and acts promptly to resolve problems or refer issues to other units appropriately. Broad knowledge of OIT services and systems is required for problem resolution. Knowledge of OIT structure and operations is needed for proper referrals. Previous software development experience is needed to assist with development and maintenance of Web applications used by the Help Desk.
