Enterprise Student Management Systems (ESMS) is a division within the UCI Office of Information Technology (OIT). The OIT is responsible for supporting the IT needs of UC Irvine faculty, students, and staff. Our mission is to provide information technology leadership, services, and innovative solutions to promote the research, education and community service goals of the University. Within OIT, ESMS provides support for the systems and applications used by six large, complex and mission critical business units: Financial Aid and Scholarships, Financial Services, Graduate Division, Office of the Registrar, Summer Session, and Undergraduate Admissions. The support provided includes daily operational support, monitoring, incident management and troubleshooting; project support, business analysis, new development, maintenance, upgrades and enhancements to a diverse group of complex in-house developed applications, systems, integrations, data extracts and reports; and support for third-party software products and their integration with other systems.

Under general direction of the Director, Enterprise Student Management, the Summer Session IT Manager will manage the Summer Session IT team providing IT and operational support for the Division of Summer Session within the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching & Learning (OVPTL). Has a broad understanding of summer session business processes, practices and policies. Responsible for architecture, design, enhancement, development and operational support of the mission critical Summer Session systems, applications, integrations, datafeeds and reports. Manage and direct maintenance, upgrades and enhancements to vendor supported student information system, PowerCampus. Is primary liaison between the Summer Session business team and OIT teams and services. Manage systems operations and analysis for home-grown, community-source and vendor information systems. Ensure issues are resolved expeditiously, thoroughly investigated, and that mission critical systems and applications are highly available. Constantly review and monitor system and team performance to identify and implement operational efficiencies and reduce the overall effort and time spent on operational support, maintenance and care-and-feeding of systems and applications. Develop and monitor SLAs for team. Recommends changes to department policies and practices. Identifies risks and responds accordingly. Provide priority setting and work flow analysis.
