The Social Media & Graphic Design Assistant will provide design support to the Office of Data and Information Technology in both digital and print mediums. They will participate in the design and development of marketing and communications pieces including advertisements, brochures, postcards, posters, website graphics, signage, social media content and other projects as assigned.
Duties and responsibilities
·        Creates multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
·        Designs flyers, posters, web graphics and other visual communications as needed
·        Produces artwork, photographs, and video for website and social media channels
·        Researches and understands specific target audiences for promotional materials
·        Maintains orderly and accessible files and archives
·        Monitors emerging trends in design and social media
·        Adheres to all UCI brand standards and best practices
·        Works collaboratively across ODIT departments
·        Performs all job functions with integrity
·        Other duties as assigned
Applicants should have knowledge of and experience with Adobe Creative Suite software and some previous layout or design experience. Good organization skills and an eye for excellent graphic design and photography are essential. Experience with photography is preferred.
·        Must be a current, full-time UCI student in good standing
·        Demonstrate and eye for design and artistic skills
·        Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, & InDesign
·        Knowledge of the principles of print design, layout, and production techniques
·        Possession of strong written and oral communication skills
·        Digital portfolio required (class work acceptable to demonstrate skills and creativity)
