Website Academic and Network Applications

The UC Irvine Academic Affairs Applications team (part of the Office of Information Technology department) delivers applications and database solutions that help our executive-level customers in Academic Affairs streamline operations through online communication platforms, collaboration tools, and data integrity and security best practices.

You’ll be working with a small team focused on developing usable, high-quality, and maintainable applications.  Your primary responsibilities are to work directly with customers to understand their needs, create project proposals, partner with web designers and testers, iterate through design and implementation, demo intermediate releases, incorporate customer feedback, launch, and incorporate what you’ve learned to improve our software development process going forward.

Our technology stack includes SQL Server, ASP, ASP.NET, Visual Basic, Access, HTML, CSS, and dynamic Javascript.  We’re open to using other tools if they help us move more quickly, encourage more maintainable/correct systems, and overall are more enjoyable to work with.

You’ll also help our customers understand and use the systems you develop.  Your responsibilities are to develop help documentation and training outlines, as well as conduct training sessions with our users.

We’re occasionally seen as a point of contact for a wide range IT services at UC Irvine.  You’ll help route customers to a technical contact who can best help them out.

External Recruitment: Open to current UCI employees and the general public.
