The UCI Office of Information Technology is currently hiring for a student assistant for the Director of the Division of Student and Academic Services.
The student position will assist the Director with multiple office, administrative, and project-based activities. The position will be responsible for calendar management, clerical tasks, digital communication, and website content management in support of the division’s operations and administration of the “Women in Technology at UCI” affiliate group, as well as internal Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
To meet deadlines and balance work on multiple projects, the candidate must show strong time-management skills and organization.
This position will provide the candidate with many opportunities to expand their skill set and gain valuable work experience reporting to senior management. The candidate should anticipate training in new areas of responsibility as necessary.
  • Full-time UCI undergraduate student status
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Comfort and familiarity with general Web use and common software, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Google Docs, email, and Web browsers
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate professional behavior
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
Preferred, but not required
  • Experience in an administrative / executive assistant role
  • Experience managing a complex calendar
  • Familiarity with data entry and report generation
  • Familiarity with WordPress (Divi framework) content management or web design
  • The student assistant may set up their own schedule for up to 19.5 hours, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.,  with flexibility around classes and finals. Students are allowed to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer.
  • This position will be remote over the summer, but expected to return on-site beginning in the fall quarter
