ResNet Mobile Access – Software Upgrade and Associated Outage on Thursday, September 6, from 8am-9am

Purpose: Scheduled Maintenance

Services Affected:

All ResNet wireless service (aka ResNet Mobile Access - the undergrad wireless network) will experience a brief outage while equipment software is updated. Residents will not need to take any additional steps to reconnect to the network once the maintenance is complete. We anticipate that all wireless service will be back up and running by 9AM.

Humanities Hall Scheduled Maintenance/Outage on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 5:30-7:30 am

Purpose: Planned maintenance

Services Affected:

The electrical power to Humanities Hall (building #601) will be shut off. Electricians are replacing a 100 amp circuit breaker in the main 480 volt distribution system. During the two hour work, network connectivity to/from Humanities Hall will not be possible. Work is expected to be completed by 7:30 AM.

Office 365 Autodiscover service – Scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, September 11, from 3 PM and 4 PM

Purpose: Scheduled maintenance

Services Affected:

The Windows Server Group has scheduled maintenance to align the Office 365 Autodiscover DNS records in accordance with Microsoft best practices. We do not anticipate any disruption in the Office 365/Exchange or Skype for Business service during the maintenance window.

Duo 2FA Scheduled Maintenance on Saturday, September 1, from 7:00 - 7:07am

Purpose: Scheduled Maintenance

Services Affected:

Duo (the vendor who manages our campus MFA solution) has scheduled routine maintenance. During the brief maintenance window, the service will be unavailable.

ACHIEVE Scheduled Maintenance on Friday, August 31st from 9pm to 5am; Saturday, September 1st from 9pm to 2am; and Sunday, September 2nd from 3pm to 6pm

Production will undergo system updates and may be unavailable for up to 15 minutes between the following times:

Friday, August 31st from 9pm to 5am US-Pacific (GMT-7)
Saturday, September 1st from 9pm to 2am US-Pacific (GMT-7)
Sunday, September 2nd from 3pm to 6pm US-Pacific (GMT-7)*

Cognos scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, August 28, from 10pm-1130pm

Purpose: Scheduled Maintenance

Services Affected:

The Cognos server will be restarted tonight starting at 10:00 PM. We expect service to be restored by 11:30 PM, and apologize for the inconvenience.

Solidus ACD telephone system scheduled maintenance on Wednesday, August 29, from 5am-8am

Purpose: Scheduled Maintenance

Services Affected:

The Telecom Engineering team has scheduled maintenance of the Solidus ACD telephone system. Calls to the OIT Help Desk will not be affected; however, calls to departments that use the Solidus ACD system for call routing will not receive calls during the maintenance window.

Connecting new network core routers to existing routers on Thursday, August 30, at 9am

Purpose: Scheduled Mainteance

Services Affected:

We're planning to connect the new network core routers to the existing ones. We don't anticipate any issues, but if you feel that this change has impacted the campus network, please call our help desk at 949-824-2222 or open a ServiceNow incident.

SDSC Maintenance/Network Outage on Wednesday, Septermber 12, from 7pm-10pm

Purpose: Scheduled Maintenance

Services Affected:

The San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) engineers will be performing a major upgrade of their data center aggregation-layer switches. This will cause multiple, brief network connectivity issues for all users of the SDSC address space.
