CENIC fiber maintenance on Saturday, November 3, from 11pm to Sunday, November 4, at 7am

Purpose: Scheduled maintenance

Services Affected:

CENIC, in conjunction with UCLA, will be performing fiber maintenance on Saturday, Nov 03, 2018 at 11pm through Nov 04, 2018 7am. The fiber maintenance is planned for Tustin location which provide our secondary or backup circuits. The maintenance will not affect our primary Internet service. We will lose circuit diversity during the maintenance window. Healthcare Network Services is also aware of this window.

Registrar Web Applications – scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, October 30, from 6pm-10pm

Purpose: Scheduled Maintenance

Services Affected:

A maintenance outage impacting Registrar Web Applications is scheduled for Tues 10/30/18 from 6pm – 10pm.

During the maintenance window WebAdmin, StudentAccess, WebSOC, DegreeWorks, and other Registrar web applications will not be accessible.

Mitel ACD (Automatic Call Distribution) phone system – scheduled maintenance on Wednesday, October 31, from 6am-630am

Purpose: Scheduled Maintenance

Services Affected:

We have scheduled maintenance for the Mitel ACD (Automatic Call Distribution) phone system. There will be no interruption to phone service during the maintenance window.

MFT DEV (Managed File Transfer Service) – Scheduled Maintenance on Saturday, October 27, from 4pm-8pm

Purpose: Scheduled Maintenance

Services Affected:

The development host used by the Managed File Transfer Service (xfer-dev.oit.uci.edu) will be temporarily unavailable while we upgrade the MFT application. The production host (xfer.oit.uci.edu) will be upgraded on 10/3.

UCI Research Park Power Outage on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 12am - 4:30am

Purpose: Planned maintenance

Services Affected:

We have received a notification from Southern California Edison that they will be performing equipment upgrades that necessitate a power outage at the following buildings:

121, 131, 141 & 151 Innovation
100, 101, 110 & 111 Theory
120, 121, 130 & 131 Theory

The outage is scheduled to take place on the morning of Wednesday, 10/24/18 between Midnight and 4:30 am. A building engineer will be onsite before 8:00 am to ensure that all building operations are functional. Student Financial IT Systems Planned Maintenance on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 9 - 5pm

Purpose: Planned maintenance

Services Affected:

We have scheduled a planned maintenance for Student Financial IT Systems on Saturday, October 19, 2018 from 9 AM to 5 PM. The following services will not be available during this timeframe:

Student Billing System, Zot Account Online, OPAL (Cashiering), SBS Rich Client, CBSO, DEFT, SLC, ARC, GuestAccess, Housing Web Services, and SBS X-NET.
Also affected: CRIS.NET (this is not a Student Financial system)

OIT Disaster Recovery DRILL on Wednesday, October 17, from 8am-8pm

Purpose: DR Drill

Services Affected:

On Wednesday, October 17, from 8am-8pm, OIT will perform a Disaster Recovery Drill to test our organization's response to a DR scenario where the OIT Data Center suffers a water main break, resulting in damage to a number of vital OIT systems.

During the drill, there should be NO discernible impact to campus production systems; however, if something does occur, we will act accordingly to roll back any changes to minimize campus impact. The DR team & Client Services are confident that the tested changes during the drill should not affect the campus.

OIT has successfully completed the Disaster Recovery Exercise. All systems and the SDSC DR environment have been returned to their pre-DR state. All identified DR recovery tasks and milestones have been completed.
