Update 1115: Border Firewall Service Degradation


Update 1115 – NE and Security saw high bandwidth and processor utilization in the border router and border firewall environment. As far as we are aware, it looks like the spike in both has subsided. Please let us know if users are reporting ongoing issues. Our teams are continuing to look at root causes.
Update 11:00 – Security and Network Engineers are continuing to investigate high bandwidth utilization at the campus border

Update 1051: Technicians are investigating reports of high utilization at the border firewall, causing disconnects and latency on the UCI VPN and UCI wired and wireless network

Update 0758: Our Security Team continues to investigate our outage at the Border Firewall, the cause is under investigation and we will update when we have additional information

Update 2230: Our technicians have informed us that there was high utilization and packet drops on the border firewall.

We are investigating reports of a campus network service degradation. Wired and wireless network connections appear to be affected, users are reporting that their connection intermittently cuts out and slow network speeds. Our teams are currently taking a look into this, no ETA at this time.

Status: Resolved


High utilization on border firewall has returned to normal.
