UPDATE 0900. Cognos Service Outage


UPDATE 0900. Cognos is now up & running, and most reports are now functional. There is still a problem with cube-based reports, which primarily affects student enrollment reporting. We expect to have this remaining issue resolved today.

UPDATE 1600. The Cognos Support team is working with the vendor (IBM) to resolve the issue.

UPDATE 1330. The Data Center team & WSG have completed the system restore process. The Cognos Support team are now running a system verification.

UPDATE 1200. WSG has completed the rollback of last night’s patches; however, the issue with Cognos has not been resolved. WSG will now attempt to roll back the VMs to a restore point from yesterday.

UPDATE 1000. WSG is in the process of rolling back last night’s server patches.

UPDATE 930. The Cognos team is in touch with WSG to discuss the server patches applied at 10pm last night to the 6 Cognos production hosts.

We are investigating reports of a Cognos service degradation. The service failed to restart last night after regular maintenance/updates. Users are reporting seeing a ‘503 service unavailable’ error when attempting to access the service. No ETA at this time.
