UPDATE 1700. UCInet Service Degradation

Description:

UPDATE 1700. We will be re-engaging our 100g circuit. We will see our network connections reconverted within seconds and traffic return to normal.

UPDATE 1500. There was a brief network outage as the CENIC technician was working to restore the primary network circuit, which went down yesterday.

Service is stable at the moment.
UPDATE 700. The fiber vendor is still working with CENIC on the issue. No ETA at this time.
UPDATE 1730. CENIC is working with the fiber vendor to restore service to our primary circuit that connects UCI to UCLA. No ETA at this time. The backup circuits are up and running for now.
About 30 minutes ago, we received word from our Network Engineering team that our commodity internet connections to CENIC failed, meaning we’re running on our backup circuits. We’re working with CENIC now to restore service.
For those who are curious, the note from CENIC about the degradation is below.

**

Route 87 between UCLA and UC Irvine is currently down. CENIC has opened a
ticket with the fiber provider to investigate the cause of this outage. We
will send additional outage announcements when we have more information.
