UPDATE 1230. Webmail service degradation

Description:

UPDATE 1230. IMAP & SMTP service has been restored, so individuals who use a desktop email client should be able to send and receive. Web client users can login again but cannot send email yet. We hope to resolve this issue soon.

UPDATE 1100. Our email admins are implementing a workaround to restore service. Thanks for your continued patience.

UPDATE 1000. The SMTP service has been restored. Those individuals who are using a desktop email client (like Apple Mail, Thunderbird, or Outlook) should be able to at least send email, but they will not be able to receive new email. Web client users are still unable to login to the email service at webmail.uci.edu. Our admins are still investigating.

UPDATE 0930. We have identified the problem and hope to restore service soon. Thank you for your patience.

We are investigating reports of a Webmail service degradation. Users are not receiving email through IMAP and are unable to login via webmail.uci.edu in a browser.
