Purpose: Scheduled maintenance

Services Affected:

OIT has scheduled a database server upgrade for Saturday morning, April 13, from 6am-8am. During the maintenance window, the OIT webmail service ( will be unavailable.

Webmail users should send and receive email through a desktop email client like Apple Mail, Thunderbird, or Microsoft Outlook, as the IMAP & SMTP service will be unaffected. If you’d like to know how to setup your email client to send and receive email, visit for instructions. If you need help, feel free to contact the OIT Help Desk.

**We will post an announcement about the upcoming scheduled maintenance on the main login page (https// starting Tuesday, April 9.**

**Anyone who tries to access on Saturday morning from 6am-8am will see a note that the service is down for maintenance.**

Besides the Webmail service, the OIT chat service (, the SEBS (Student Electronic Broadcast System) service, and all account provisioning (IGS) for ES Mail and Google Apps will also be unavailable.
