BLISS Payroll Expense migration to DWQuery

by | Feb 12, 2020 | News

We are getting ready to deploy the following queries to DWQuery on Wednesday, February 12, 2020:

  • Employee Earnings & Expense Ad Hoc Query (Payroll Expense 1)
  • *New* Employee Earnings & Expense Ad Hoc Query – all Accounts (Payroll Expense 2)

The ‘Data Warehouse – Payroll Expense’ KSAMS role has been migrated for all existing users. Please review your access and make changes as needed. Access requests will be refreshed nightly in DWQuery after the KSAMS request is approved.

The record level security in Payroll Expense 1 will function the same as the BLISS query. It will restrict the results to the specific KFS Org/KFS Account defined in the user’s KSAMS role.

The record level security in Payroll Expense 2 has been expanded to allow users to view ALL PPS Payroll Expense records (including historical) for any employee they have access to, based on the current KSAMS role, even if the employee was a different department or paid off a different account in the past.

The Payroll Expense BLISS queries will remain functional for a month after the DWQuery deployment. Saved queries will not be migrated over.

Please note that the ‘Data Warehouse – Payroll Expense’ KSAMS role is only for the Payroll Expense 1,2 DWQueries. It does not affect any access to UCPath-related reports.

We are also aware that the January 2020 data for Payroll Expense is not available in DWH yet. We are working with UCOP to resolve this issue.

Please email dwh@uci.edu if you have any questions.
