April 5, 2023

The Office of Information Technology and the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning have partnered to bring NameCoach name pronunciation software to UCI.

Faculty and staff at UCI can use NameCoach to create an audio recording of their name, which can be shared in email signatures, on staff and student group website directories, and any other location where a link can be embedded. NameCoach is also integrated into UCI Canvas for ready access by students and instructors.

Using NameCoach to share the pronunciation of your name can help others pronounce it correctly, avoiding misunderstandings or awkwardness and promoting a more inclusive workplace culture.
