KSAMS is used to regulate and restrict access to numerous business applications and secure systems. Access to these applications and systems (like KFS) is role-based and can be requested by anyone with an active UCInetID; however, final approval is granted by your Departmental Security Administrators (DSA) or other specific role approvers.

Please note that you cannot access KSAMS from off-campus without first using the VPN.

How do I request access in KSAMS?

Select this link to fill out the brief Access Request Form. You'll need to enter your Name or UCInetID, the Role Name, and a Reason why you feel you need the role.

Requesting access is easy. Anyone can request access to anything; however, whether or not you get access depends on the Approvers in the workflow. Typically your DSA will be the first approver, and just like with KFS the request may route to other users in other departments (such as the KFS Help Desk or OIT Help Desk) for final approval.

There is great documentation (including videos) on how to use the system on the KSAMS homepage. Look for the Help link in the upper-right-hand corner.

My Primary Org is incorrect in KSAMS. How can I fix it?

Your Primary Org is determined by your Home Department Code in the payroll system (PPS). If it's incorrect, you can open a ticket to ask the OIT Help Desk to perform a Primary Org Override. Please tell us why you need the override, the Chart Code and the correct Primary Org. If you don't know this information, ask your manager or DSA to submit the request on your behalf.

How do I become a KSAMS DSA?

Partner with your manager or current DSA so that they may submit the role request for you. The role name is KSAMS - Departmental DSA. The request will come to Super DSAs for approval.

Please note that there is no formal training for KSAMS. You may request training from your current DSA or consult the KSAMS User Guide.
