Retirees

Dear UCI Retiree,

Congratulations to the next phase of your life!

As you plan for new opportunities ahead, we wanted to remind you that UCI’s Office of Information Technology continues to be a resource for you. You still have a range of privileges, access, and tools as a member of the UCI community, and we’re here to help you make use of them.

We have created a retiree resources page for you, answering questions you may have and offering solutions to technical issues which may come up. Please take some time to review this page, and feel free to contact OIT if needed. We will be happy to assist you.

Retiree FAQ

1. I'm about to retire/have recently retired. Can I keep my UCI email?

Yes! There is a form on the Center for Emertii & Retirees website that you must download and fill out. Instructions on next steps are in the form.

2. What's my UCInetID?

Your UCInetID is the first part of your email address. It is not your ID number. For example, the UCInetID for Peter Anteater (if your email address is panteate@uci.edu) ucinetid would be panteate.

3. I forgot my UCInetID password.

If you’re having trouble logging in to your UCI Gmail account, use this self-service tool to reset or change your UCI Gmail password.

4. Can I still use the VPN and access the Library's resources/journals from off-campus?

Yes. Retirees can continue to access the Library’s resources from off-campus using the VPN. In addition, you are welcome to come on campus and use the wi-fi to access those resources from your personal computer or you may use the computers in the Library.

To use the wi-fi, you must first register the MAC address for your wireless device using our Express Registration tool. If you need assistance, OIT can help you with this request.
