Webfiles Retirement Coming Soon
OIT will shut down the Webfiles service on January 3, 2024. We recommend you move any data you wish to keep to secure, campus-approved collaboration alternatives before then.
Microsoft Announces Changes to M365 Storage
On August 1, 2023 Microsoft announced that it will change its storage model for its cloud productivity suite Microsoft 365 (M365). The majority of these changes will occur when the University of California systemwide contract with Microsoft expires in 2028.
Google Storage Tiers Update
As a reminder, though 90% of users do not exceed the new established limit, as a whole, UCI must work together to reduce storage by July 1, 2024 or face an interruption of service across all Google Workspace tools.
WebAuth Decommissioning: January 2024

Apporto Virtual Lab Account Deletions
On July 10, 2023, all student, faculty, and staff user accounts on Apporto Virtual Computer Lab will be DELETED. Please plan ahead and save any data or work prior to this day to prevent any loss of data. There will be NO BACKUPS made.
The Apporto Virtual Computer Lab will be unavailable during this maintenance window from July 10, 2023, to July 14, 2023.
Introducing Google Storage Tiers
Google has announced the end of unlimited storage for Google Workspace. Effective July 1st, 2024, UCI’s unlimited storage will end. OIT will be rolling out a new tiered model to manage storage and costs going forward.
Name Pronunciation Software, NameCoach, Now Available
NameCoach, a web-based platform that helps individuals and organizations correctly pronounce names, is now available at UCI.
