FileNet is an enterprise content management solution for securely storing UCI Campus and UCI Medical Center content. We work with the Document Management Team to quickly scan and quality check documents that are then uploaded to FileNet for secure storage.
FileNet is an enterprise content management system (ECM) that is used by UCI to manage and store administrative documents and records. The system allows authorized users to upload, search, and retrieve documents and records from a centralized repository, making it easier to manage administrative workflows and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
FileNet is used by various administrative units at UCI, including the Office of the Registrar, Student Financial Services, and the Graduate Division. The system provides a range of features, including document imaging, version control, access controls, and audit trails, which help to ensure the integrity and security of documents and records.
Access to FileNet
Content in FileNet is encrypted and accessible in several ways such as a web link, a mapped network drive, and a Microsoft plugin. Access permissions are managed through KSAMS so only people with the proper roles are able to view or edit the content.
Organization
Metadata or properties can be assigned to content to make it easier to find and faster to search for.
