WordPress Website Support

WordPress is a user-friendly content management system that is easy to customize. It allows for rapid development to quickly create websites. OIT offers free basic WordPress websites hosted on our UCI Sites and Faculty Websites platforms. WordPress Website Support is for clients with more robust needs who need help managing or migrating their WordPress websites. 

Content Management and Site Architecture

We offer assistance with content management and site architecture.

This includes:

• Site Architecture and Navigation Structure – We work with the client to develop a recommended site architecture and navigation structure based on the client’s goals and objectives. It is assumed that the client has or will develop the site content.
• Content migration to UCI Sites or Faculty Websites – We will work with the client to populate the website once the hierarchy has been established. We can do the work for you or advise you on best practices if you have the staffing to do the content migration.
• Content updates by the client – After the website is built or the migration is completed, the client will take ownership of the website and continue to make updates. If you need assistance updating content, let us know and we can discuss your needs.

The following services are NOT included:

• The creation and development of content. We do not write or edit content.
• The creation and development of images or artwork. We can advise you about campus resources and how to find copyright-free images or create images using AI tools
• Theme development or web design. We highly recommend using the UCI Campus branding standards. We can configure existing themes like Divi or CampusPress flex to match campus branding.
