New AWS Cloud Services Available

Mar 10, 2023 | News

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is introducing a new process for UCI researchers and IT staff to request Amazon Web Services (AWS) accounts and cloud servers. The new AWS Account Request Form in ServiceNow enables customers to easily request new accounts – these accounts come with the following benefits:

  • A dedicated account for running your workloads with access that you control
  • AWS cloud environment developed and managed by OIT
  • An environment designed for critical infrastructure and P3 / P4 data
  • A 17% discount off AWS retail prices and simplified billing
  • A 45% discount off S3 storage retail prices (all tiers)

In addition, a new OIT Server Design Request Form in ServiceNow enables customers to request new OIT-managed servers and storage for their accounts. OIT will engage with each requestor to design the best solution for their needs. This service provides the same security, management, and support as OIT’s on-premise solutions.
