OIT distributes licenses and installers for a number of research software applications that are commonly used by faculty, staff, and students across campus.

How to obtain a license
Software licenses are available from our Service Catalog. UCInetID logins are required. There are separate forms for students and staff/faculty.
- Student licenses have no additional charge
- Faculty and staff must pay for certain licenses. See the software service catalog for pricing.

Other Software
In addition to research software, the Software Service Catalog is where you can get other software including Microsoft Office for Personal Use, Adobe Acrobat or Creative Cloud, Cisco Secure Client VPN, Alertus Emergency Alert software, Camtasia products like SnagIt, and much more.

SPSS Pricing
In 2022, the contract with IBM changed resulting in a renewal cycle that is tied to the calendar year. The Authorization Code now expires on December 31 of each year and must be renewed annually.
Recharge Only
To purchase a license, you must do so via departmental recharge only (KFS account numbers). No PALCards, credit cards, or checks are accepted. If you don’t know what KFS account number to use, please partner with your department’s bookkeeper or fiscal officer.
